The purpose of landfill capping
Landfill capping design system for non-hazardous and hazardous landfills should prevent the intrusion of precipitation into the waste or the release of landfill gases from the waste.
SENSOR DDS® FIXED systems are often used in conjunction with the capping, particularly in Germany. The reason for their approach is because if you have ZERO LEAK LINER® approach to the cap, then leachate is dramatically reduced and any geomembrane breaches are real easy to repair.
SENSOR DDS® is well suited to all landfill applications because they allow the client to monitor the integrity of the geomembrane liner for the long term we are the only manufacture to be still operating all of the sites constructed in the 1980s when we started out. The system have a minimum lifespan of 30 years but are in fact designed to last 200 years (guaranteed by BAM certification of SENSOR DKS®).

The sensors are tested on site prior to installation.
DDS sensors are singularly connected to the monitoring station via cable.
Sensors are installed directly on the clay layer, or subsoil.
16x16' sensor grid was applied on landfill capping.
Completely re-cultivated landfill with vegetation over.
After liner installation the entire surface is tested using SENSOR DDS® MIT before other layers are laid over.
Landfill capping with ZERO LEAK LINER® prevents contamination spread from the landfill.
Landfills with a ZERO LEAK LINER® creates a risk free place for your waste.
